今日は休日だったので、久しぶりに YouTube で音楽を聴きました。
最初は「乃木坂46」の楽曲をいくつか再生していたのですが、何曲か聴いているうちに、私の大好きな曲「君の名は希望」を聴きたくなったので、検索してみました。
すると、これまでに見たことのない、新しい映像が公開されていました。
この動画を観たことで、自分の中にあったこの曲への「想い」がより一層、深まったようにも感じました。
もともと「君の名は希望」は、乃木坂46にとってはもちろんのこと、私にとっても深い思い入れのある、大切な一曲です。
若い頃、六本木でバリバリと働いていた時の記憶と思い出が、この曲に強く結びついています。
私が乃木坂46を知るきっかけはこの曲でしたし、アイドルに対するイメージをガラッと変えてくれたのもこの曲でした。
(当時は通勤に、東京メトロ千代田線の乃木坂駅を利用しており、駅構内で流れる発車ベルに興味を持ったことがすべての始まりでした)
生駒里奈さんをイメージして作られたという背景がありますが、私の中では生田絵梨花さんの印象が強く、美しい歌声やピアノの演奏が強く心に残っています。
YouTube上では、AKB48の渡辺麻友さんが生田絵梨花さんとともに披露した映像や、ピアノによるインストゥルメンタル音源、さらにはさまざまな人によるカバー動画など、公式以外にもこの曲にまつわる素敵な作品がたくさん存在しています。
当時と比べると、乃木坂46のメンバー構成も大きく変わりました。
以前、五期生による「君の名は希望」のステージを観る機会がありましたが、その際は、どこか心に響くものが足りず、物足りなさと寂しさが入り混じったような複雑な感情を抱きました。
歌い継ぐことの意味や、時代とともに変化していく表現のあり方については、自分なりに理解をしているつもりです。
それでも、かつて心を揺さぶられたあの一曲と、五期生によるパフォーマンスとの間には、埋めがたい「ギャップのようなもの」を感じており、少し残念な気持ちを覚えたのも事実です。
しかし今回の動画では、そんな五期生の井上和さんと中西アルノさんの二人が「君の名は希望」を改めて披露しているというものでした。
異なる声質が重なり合うそのハーモニーと、真っ直ぐに届く歌声に、思わず涙がこぼれました。
作曲者の杉山勝彦さんも「X」にコメントを投稿されておりましたが、私自身も深く心を動かされました。
これまでも二人の魅力は十分に感じていたつもりでしたが、今日という日は、彼女たちへの印象が大きく変わったことを実感しています。

Since it was my day off today, I spent some time listening to music on YouTube for the first time in a while. At first, I listened to a few songs by Nogizaka46, and after hearing several of them, I felt like listening to my favourite track, “Kimi no Na wa Kibou”, so I looked it up. To my surprise, I discovered a newly uploaded video that I had never seen before. Watching this video somehow deepened the feelings I already had for this song.
“Kimi no Na wa Kibou” has always been a very special song, not only for Nogizaka46 but also for me personally. My memories of working energetically in Roppongi when I was younger are strongly tied to this song. It was the song that first introduced me to Nogizaka46, and it completely changed the way I viewed idols.
Back then, I used the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line to commute, and everything began when I became curious about the departure melody played at Nogizaka Station. Although the song was originally created with Rina Ikoma in mind, what left the strongest impression on me was Erika Ikuta’s beautiful singing and piano performance.
On YouTube, apart from official content, there are many wonderful versions of this song, including a duet by Mayu Watanabe and Erika Ikuta, piano instrumentals, and various covers by different people.
Compared to those earlier days, the lineup of Nogizaka46 has changed significantly. Some time ago, I had the opportunity to watch a performance of “Kimi no Na wa Kibou” by the fifth generation members. At the time, I felt it lacked emotional impact, and I was left with a complex mix of emptiness and sadness.
I do believe I understand the importance of passing down songs, as well as the way artistic expression naturally changes over time. Even so, between the version that once moved me so deeply and the fifth generation’s performance, I felt there was an unbridgeable gap, and I could not help but feel a little disappointed.
However, the recent video featured two fifth-generation members, Nagi Inoue and Aruno Nakanishi, performing the song once again. Their harmonies, blending distinct vocal qualities, and the sincerity of their voices moved me to tears.
Katsuhiko Sugiyama, the composer, also shared a comment on X, and I too felt deeply touched.
Although I had already appreciated their talent, today truly changed the way I see the two of them.
