今日はYouTubeで、久しぶりに乃木坂46の曲を聴きました。
何曲か聴いたあと、『君の名は希望』が無性に聴きたくなり、検索してみたところ、新しい動画がアップされていました。
それを観て、この曲に対する自分の想いが、今日また少しだけ更新されたように感じました。
もともと、『君の名は希望』は、乃木坂46にとってはもちろん、私にとっても大切な一曲です。
若い頃、六本木でバリバリと働いていた時の記憶とともに、この曲が強く心に刻まれています。
私が乃木坂46を知るきっかけはこの曲でしたし、アイドルに対するイメージをガラッと変えてくれたのも、この曲でした。
生駒里奈さんをイメージして作られたという背景はありますが、私の中では特に、生田絵梨花さんの美しい歌声やピアノが強く印象に残っています。
また、ピアノによるインストゥルメンタル音源や、AKB48の渡辺麻友さんが生田絵梨花さんとともに披露した映像など、公式以外にもこの曲にまつわる素敵な表現がたくさん存在しています。
当時と比べると、乃木坂46のメンバー構成も大きく変わりました。
5期生が『君の名は希望』を歌った映像を観たときは、あまり感動することができず、正直にいえば少し残念な気持ちにもなりました。
歌い継ぐことの大切さは理解しているつもりですが、あの頃のように心が震えることは、もうないのかもしれない、と、そんなふうにも感じました。
もちろん、この曲の難易度が高いということは理解していますし、声の質や相性など、さまざまな要素が絡み合っているということも分かっています。
それでも、自分の記憶の中にある、気高くて美しい『君の名は希望』はもう聴けないのかもしれないと思うと、とても寂しい気持ちになりました。
今回観た動画は、その5期生の中から、中西アルノさんと井上和さんの2人が改めて『君の名は希望』を歌っているものでした。
声質の異なる2人による美しいハーモニーと見事な歌声に、自然と涙がこぼれました。
作曲者の杉山勝彦さんもXでコメントを投稿されていましたが、私も同じように、心を大きく動かされました。
これまでも、二人の魅力は素晴らしいと感じておりましたが、今日という日は、私の中で中西アルノさんと井上和さんに対する印象が、大きく変わった一日でもありました。
これからも、ずっとこのグループを応援し続けていきたいと思います。
Today, I found myself listening to some Nogizaka46 songs on YouTube for the first time in a while. After a few tracks, I suddenly felt an urge to listen to Kimi no Na wa Kibou, so I searched for it—and to my surprise, a new video had just been uploaded. Watching it made me feel as though my feelings towards the song had been gently updated once again today.
Kimi no Na wa Kibou has always been a very special song—not only for Nogizaka46, but for me personally. It brings back vivid memories of when I was working full throttle in Roppongi during my younger days. This song was what first introduced me to Nogizaka46, and it completely changed the way I saw idols. While the song is said to have been written with Rina Ikoma in mind, what stands out most vividly in my memory is Erika Ikuta’s beautiful vocals and her piano playing. There are also instrumental piano versions and a memorable performance by Mayu Watanabe from AKB48, accompanied by Ikuta-san on piano—so many beautiful interpretations of this song exist outside the official releases.
Of course, compared to those days, Nogizaka46’s lineup has changed significantly. When I watched the performance of Kimi no Na wa Kibou by the 5th generation members, I must admit I didn’t feel particularly moved. To be honest, it left me a little disappointed. I do understand the importance of passing songs down to future generations, but I couldn’t help thinking that perhaps I would never again feel that same sense of emotional resonance I once did. Of course, I realise that this song is a difficult one to perform, and that various elements such as voice quality and compatibility all play a part. Still, the noble and beautiful version of Kimi no Na wa Kibou that lives in my memory may never be heard again—and that thought made me feel rather sad.
The video I watched today featured Aruno Nakanishi and Nagi Inoue, both from the 5th generation, performing the song once again. Their voices—so distinct, yet harmonising so beautifully—moved me to tears. Even Katsuhiko Sugiyama, the composer, left a comment on X, which was formerly known as Twitter, and I found myself equally touched. I’ve always thought both of them were wonderful, but today, my impression of Aruno Nakanishi and Nagi Inoue changed profoundly. I genuinely want to continue supporting them from the bottom of my heart.
